Purchased this item after seeing an island concept on Pinterest. (don't judge! haha) Although shipping was an arm and a leg (to get to Hawaii) we couldn't be happier with it! Just be aware that if you plan on using it for a traditional island, you may want to consider shortening the cabinet heights of the cabinet it will sit on top. We didn't do this and since it's 4" thick, it's about 2.5" higher than the rest of our counter tops (which are granite). Overall though (aside from the slight height difference...which is our fault for not thinking that one through) we LOVE this! Just had our housewarming and received MANY compliments on it. Gives the kitchen a professional yet warm look to it. Just be advised too tho that you need to care for it with mineral oil occasionally and don't leave cold drinks on it! You WILL get water rings... Would definitely purchase again....even with the $150+ shipping to Hawaii!

Beautiful cutting block. We wanted it to be 3 inches vs 4 inches and took it to a wood shop to have it sanded down to size. The price on this board was great since anything that was 3" this size had to be custom made with the $80 cost of having it sanded down still made this cheaper than a custom Boos board.
