The wood itself is truly beautiful. Very sturdy construction. Be aware that it comes as one piece, is bulky and will take effort to actually get into the house. You will probably want two people to move it.

This butcher block table is functional, beautiful and sturdy. My husband and I can stand on either side and chop veggies and not get in each other's way. The shelf on the bottom also works well for a wine rack, placing the bottles so that the spaces between the wood slats hold the bottles in place. I didn't have a lot of extra space in my kitchen and this is a compact work space but the whole surface is available for chopping and prepping. It cleans up well. I rub food grade mineral oil into the top ocassionally for maintenance to keep it from drying out. Great product, well made.
