UPDATE: The back two wheels on our cart completely collapsed in. The bottom support is made of particle board and the wheels caved in with particle board still attached to them. The screws pulled away big chunks of it with them. The majority of the unit is made of beautiful hard wood, so I don't understand why they used particle board to support the weight of the island. The stainless top is VERY heavy, in addition to the fact that this unit is meant to carry heavy kitchen appliances. If it had fallen, my kitchenaid mixer would have done serious damage to our floor. Really terrible design flaw.This piece is beautiful and opened a good deal of storage up in our tiny apartment. I am a petite woman and was able to assemble it all by myself, though I suggest the help of a power drill. I love that it is made from real wood, not particle board with veneers. Only complaint is that it scratches very easily. We used it for our wine and cocktail station at a party and the wine opener left lots of scratches just from sitting on the surface and being moved around. I might just take a piece of sandpaper and buff it so that any more scratching isn't as noticeable.
